Digital Forensics Laboratory

The Arizona Counter Terrorism Information Center (ACTIC) Digital Forensics Laboratory (DFL) is comprised of member agencies with full-time digital forensic examiners assigned to the DFL. The purpose of the DFL is to provide a lab environment for examining electronic evidence. Law Enforcement or regulatory agencies with full-time digital forensic examiner(s) on staff can assign examiners to the DFL full-time or use the lab on a case-by-case basis.

Member agencies have state-of-the-art computer equipment, forensic software, and networks available for case examination in the lab. The lab is equipped to maintain evidence on site, with each agency having control of their respective evidence and cases.

The DFL provides technical expertise to the ACTIC, lab members, and Arizona Law Enforcement Agencies in several areas, including forensic examination of evidence, indexing and searching electronic media, database integration and query, technical assistance, and expert courtroom testimony. Additionally, the DFL hosts computer forensic classes and in-lab training for examiners from member agencies.
